Dutch Bank 'ING BANK N.V' to finance water infrastructure project

The Albanian Assembly approved the agreement of credit between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and Dutch Bank "ING BANK N.V" on financing of the project on rehabilitation of the water infrastructure of Vlore.
EBRD to allocate EUR 120 mln to Alb's private sector in '08

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will allocate EUR 120 mln to Albanian private sector in 2008, ATA News Agency reports. According to information sources from EBRD, the main sectors to benefit EBRD investments are: sector of construction material, banking and non-banking institutions, telecommunication sector, energy and port facilities.
Albania reflects strong economic progress, says EBRD

The Head of the EBRD in Tirane, Dan Berg, commenting on the report of Transition 2007, hailed Albania as a country reflecting progress and said that this rate will continue with a strong economic growth in several major sectors leading the development, ATA News Agency reports.
He said improvement of infrastructure will attract more foreign
investors.
Meanwhile, the already privatised local banking system should
be more active in financing the real economy.
"Albania has made a great
progress, considering the fact that it has been one of the countries with the
most difficult transition beginning, but it has still many reforms to carry out
as the country gets closer to the European Union," Berg said.
"As the
Report of Transition 2007 explains, we believe that the challenges ahead are:
further improvement of business conditions, reformation of the energy sector as
well as better standards of public administration," Berg added.
